Distraction or inspiration

As soon as I got into the place where I am working with my textiles and mixed media I got distracted.

And how !!!

All the materials that the former “Keramist” who used the Ateljee and all the other artists that lived and worked here for longer or shorter periods have left “something” behind.

The curator of the exhibitions that are held in Hovinkartano has gathered these gems and stored them in large trunks and cabinets.

When I need anything like glass, iron, gramophone records, plastic cups or bags, linen, threads, paper , lace ….. you name it …. It is all there!

The most special ones of the objects I found is a big bag full with unprocessed linen threads and another large bag full of (almost) golden strips of copper foil and when I walk out there are even more treasures to find: stones, wood, the lake….

What is your biggest “distraction” or does it actually inspires you?

I love to read your blog. I love your questions at the end. It is nice to hear that you are working, discovering and making. I hope your workshop went (or goes) well.
    Hugs from Amsterdam.

When I linger on to your question I feel that it’s all about progress. Does the ‘distraction’ takes you further or is it holding you back? I wish us many ‘distractions’ that takes us further ….
